T-12 Days
The Vitale's 2009 road trip is 12 days away! We're finalizing the itinerary, booking hotels, and generally getting really excited about spending 2+ weeks driving around the good ol' USA. We plan to see as much as possible, spend as little money as possible, and have one hell-of-a-time.
We're also experimenting with blogging - wish us luck. I've never blogged before, and if you know anything about Michelle, you probably know, her technological capabilities are somewhat limited and very infrequent (eg. facebook and myspace)!
We're using this site to keep a journal of all the fun and interesting things we see and do on this two week adventure. A few years ago a good friend of ours went cross-country (Damon - you are the inspiration). He blogged using a site similar to this one. He basically updated his friends/family about his trip, posted pictures of cities he visted, and kept of journal of memorable moments. The best part is, we'll have all the fun stuff written down - a few years from now we'll get to look back on all the fun.
Hopefully, we'll remember to update this site regularly, post pictures and write about the fun and interesting things that happen. Michelle might even use this blog to vent a little bit. For some reason, she's voluntarily agreed to spend 2 weeks in the car with yours truly. A little venting is inevitable.....
If anyone has suggestions, pointers, or any other advice for our trip, we're all ears. We're traveling about 2,900 miles in a little more than two weeks. The big cities include: Detriot, Chicago, Milwaukee, Minneapolis and Atlantic City. All suggestions are welcome.
